COG-OT

Clinical Onboarding Guide for Occupational Therapists

This app has been designed to support digital aspects of practice, during the COVID 19 pandemic and post pandemic is the focus of novice practitioner research.

This guide supports holistic, safe occupational therapy practice in relation to home assessments. The numbers of people referred to our services, who now need to be able to access a range of technology to achieve their goals, is rapidly increasing. We know that this is a serious challenge for some people and their families/carers, and as the inequalities gap increases and economic impacts hit.

This project is funded by the Elizabeth Casson Trust and supported by a small group of occupational therapists, HMA, a digital agency and others who provide a range of expertise to the team. The team have used occupational models and digital standards to underpin this app. It is being used by occupational therapists from 2020-2023 as part of a research project with novice practitioners (students and preceptors). Final insights will be collated in 2023 but we are already exploring scale-up options with Universities. For more details please get in touch with Alicia via the contact page.
